An Instagram carousel checklist you can reuse
A useful carousel gives readers a reason to move from one slide to the next. This checklist focuses on the content and export workflow you control, without promising a particular reach or engagement rate.
Write the sequence before polishing the cover
Start with the reader’s question. Use the first slide to state the outcome, the middle slides to explain the process and the final slide to suggest a next step. Avoid repeating the same point in different words just to add pages.
Example briefFor a bakery: 1. How to store sourdough at home. 2. What to do on the first day. 3. How to freeze slices. 4. How to reheat them. 5. A short storage checklist.
Pick a consistent format
Carousel AI offers square 1:1 and portrait 3:4 layouts. Choose one format for the whole carousel. In Photo mode, select images that support the explanation, and replace any image that does not match the subject.
Review as a mobile reader
Check short headings, readable body text, spacing and contrast. If a slide requires too much explanation, simplify it or split the idea. Use the preview controls to check the complete sequence, not only the cover.
Export images in order
Download the PNG images or the ZIP containing the slide files. Open the files before posting and keep their numbered order. Review the final slide for your call to action and, on the Free plan, the watermark.
Make the next step relevant
A checklist may invite the reader to save it. A service explanation may point to a conversation or a page with details. Choose a next step that matches the content instead of adding several competing requests. Review the generated caption before publishing.
